CML project for Novartis

A few years ago I was commissioned by Shoot You to make a series of films for Novartis, designed to reassure patients recently diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia that, following recent advances in treatment, it need not be a drastically life-changing condition. There were to be about six films, each set to a voice track written by an actual patient with CML detailing their own experience. The client particularly wanted a design style that felt warm and reassuring, and after none of my own designs seemed quite right to them (too cartoony perhaps!) I suggested that my partner, illustrator Trina Dalziel, offer home designs. They were delighted with these so for each of the films she created a design for each scene which I then used as an animation reference. A successful collaboration, we all felt, and we're always on the lookout for projects where we can work together again.
