My own unique method of producing animated maps is a fun, engaging and cost-effective way of presenting information by "taking the eye for a walk".  The hand-drawn technique is a key part of the appeal. The approach is not limited to geographical maps but can be used for any information that might be presented as a sequential image or placed in an imaginary physical environment, such as an engineering process or a business methodology; anything that gets you from "A" to "B" in any sense of the term.
